I'm Not Quitting...

Saturday my family and I were at the Pancake Pantry in downtown Nashville. It was a busy morning and the wait staff was bustling around like crazy.

Throughout the course of the meal there was an extensive amount of joking and jesting with our waitress. She was having fun, we were having fun...it was just the way every restaurant experience should be.

Towards the end of the meal our waitress stopped and shared a not so pleasant experience that she had with us. She told us about a customer earlier in the week whom she accidentally stepped on their foot as she was serving them.

This customer would not accept an apology, and continued to ravage the waitress, and proceeded to complain for 20 minutes following her meal to the manager, despite the waitress asking for forgiveness 3 times.

She told us that after her shift had ended she called her fiancé to inform him she had decided to quit her longstanding job at the restaurant. (Can you blame her, who deserves to be treated that way?)

But as our time at her table was drawing to a close she told us, "because of you all I'm going to give this place another year."

We never know someone's situation, or how our joy (or lack of) can effect their lives.
